boost spike help

i did a search... but when the results came back at 542 for "boost spike"... i got really lazy...

anyways... here goes...

i've gotta buddy with a pretty much stock evo... intake and turbo back exhaust... we installed her new autometer gauges in... and now... her car just doesn't seem right...

she spikes to about 1.7-1.8 bar... and depending on the speed... she'll slowly creep back down to 1.3-1.5... when the car hasn't warmed up... she'll boost to 1.2 and it'll hold with no problems...

her EGT's stay around 7 or so for regular spirited driving... yet creep up to 850++ (almost hitting 900)... when the EGT's are that high... she's boosting around 1.5-1.6 consistently...

mind you her car is relatively stock... ONLY an intake, downpipe, test pipe, and catback... no tuning or anything else...

can anyone lend any insight on to what the feezy is going on?

Whats up again =D Funny how I also seem to get to your posts..

Anyhow - anytime you add a turboback exhaust WITHOUT a MBC/EBC you will go up a few psi because of reduced backpressure.

Add that with the fuel regulator tap for the boost gauge and it might seem awkward.

If I were your homegirl I'd fork up a few bucks for a MBC (Dejon Tool/Hallman/TurboXS - whatever floats her boat) to help you turn it down a few psi.

Hope that helps!

here is a link make sure its taped right or a pic at least because i was havein simmular issues till i changed where i taped

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...8&postcount=25

just to be on the safe sides. normaly a/f steadies out after the engin warms up more so possably why u see the fluxuations till then

just for kicks n giggles

also check vacume lines possably one got split or a hole / crack in it from being pulled on and off
