car "burps" during WOT

exactly what it sounds like. when gassing thru the gears, the car will almost "sputter". its kinda random, but it will do this when i have passengers in the car, and have not noticed it without passengers. it almost feels like a clogged or faulty fuel injector, or something. it will burp, 1-3 times in a 5 second span im not getting any SES (check engine/ service engine soon) light on my dash... i do have mods done.

Turbo XS FMIC
3" megan DP
3" megan HF cat (extremely small leak where stock cat back bolts to HF cat)

is this common? i use 92 gas, and put in octaine booster every few tanks of gas.
only have 8900 miles on it. changed oil 2 times already... i dont wanna have a lemon car when its under 15k... that would suck.

Exclamation

your problem is the octane booster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STOP USING IT!!!! you most likely need a tune to adjust for the fuel u use. the owner's manual recommends a min 93 octane. if you use less, the ECU pulls timing so you don't blow it up. hopefully your not detonating...

also looking at your exhaust mods you did it backwards. you should have the largest part of the exhaust in the back. you added a 3" dp & a 3" cat but it bottlenecks at the stock 2.5" catback exhaust making them useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

get a 3" catback & get a flash ASAP!! your car will thank you.

It only does it with passengers? With someone in the front or back or both?

Just find a good shop to bend you the piece and add on the muffler you want. I had a full 3" turbo back exhaust custom made for my old Integra for under $450 total

the b&b is one of the worst exhausts out there hp wise. get something strait through like the buschur, greddy ti, magnaflow, hks etc. you dont want a huge...thing (for lack of a better word) that the b&b has, you want a strait through muffler.

If you have been using Octane booster I recomend changing out your spark plugs. Most "octane boosters" leave deposits on the spark plugs that can result in missfire..... sounds exactly like what you have going on in your car under heavy load!

stop using the booster...but i also had this same problem. how many miles do you currently have on your set of plugs. i changed my plugs and that rid the problem.

What rpm?

My car had this problem off and on for a year at ~4500 rpm. Turned out to be misfire and eliminating intake leaks (samco hoses and tbolt clamps) and fresh plugs gapped to .026 (NGK BPR7es) helped. The final solution for my car was swapping my magnecor wires for the stock wires. The magnecors didn't fit well and I wasn't getting good spark near torque peak.

As stated, it's probably from increased load with passengers in the car, but it'll probably get worse if you don't address it.

Good luck!

there are off the shelf octane boosters which suck for evos and there are the REAL ones which are friggin expensive cuz they are literally concentrated race gas in a bottle.... since you say you put one in every other tank, i will assume you buy the cheap **** from autozone thinking your octane level is hitting 93 LOL... sorry bro maybe your right now at 92.1 at best hehe
