I think there's a lot of debate about that. Sure they're will be cases were the pump can be too weak even for 330hp .e.g. a knackered one, dirty fuel filter etc. But IMHO you would feel that, like hesitation when stomping on the loud pedal, bad performance especially in high revs. In my current application I don't have such problems. We'll see how it goes after fitting the MBC to get rid of the spikes and the boost creep.

For the Apexi setup on the EVO it is essential to fit the pump and fpr as otherwise it wouldn't work. It's not good to lean out an already lean mixture.

Michael

I've already surfed the net some weeks ago and was put off by the prices for the wideband ones. If you only need one for monitoring WOT you could fit the Lambda Link from Link itself. That would be around EUR 70.

Unfortunately the MOT tester of my dad doesn't fit in the boot of my EVO
This would be the most cost effective for me!

Cheers

Mike

Claudius, Claudius........

Mike,

A good lambda link is very expensive. I used to have a cheap one (below 500 euro) in my Eagle Talon: it drove me nuts after a while.
Just get the car tested with a proper system.

Guys,

Fuelling problems are more than the pump. The piping from the pump, the regulator and the fuel rail are all restrictive. This can be modified, or upgraded to HKS fuel rail and regulator.

The FSE regulators are not reliable.

Raising base fuel pressure is not recommended. Injectors are designed to work at 3 bar base fuel pressure. RC up it to 6 bar for the Apexi!!!!
This will give you unusual spray patterns and unreliable operation of the injetors.

I am just about to get my GEMS, if you like, I will tell you how I get on.

Fully mapped and installed for £1390 by a real expert.

who'll do the work? Gems themselves? Given that they are only in Egham...

The main problem seems to come from the flow rate, ie when you step on the throttle at 4,000 rpms it needs to flow a max and may not be able to deliver enough. I dont know whether this is true because I havent seen flowrates measured myself. Nring suggested this is a lot of bull**** made up by tuners who want to sell fuel pumps and various other parts. It all sounded believable to me though...

That seems to be exactly the problem i have currently.
After fitting the SportsECU i am at 334PS now.
Sometimes (not allways) when i throttle up it feels
just like it is not getting enough gas.
This does not happen when i start from a complete stop...
Anyone else had this problem and probably has a cure for it? PLLZZZ

*I just hope i'm understandable*
