do you have every mod ever mentioned on your car? i speak of what i know... for intercoolers most of what i know came from

Do you have to post last to get every last word in? Will you lose sleep otherwise?

Yes I have every mod listed, many people have seen my car and worked on it as well.

some australian company not afraid to tell the truth. lots of good info with lots of pictures and diagrams.

1 source, one VENDER source that agress with you. I could scour the internet and find many that don't, what's your point?

I have seen IC's in "ACTION" too, they offered no gains, i believe tuning is better then swaping parts that are not needed until certain stages.

cheers.

So if I have a stock IC and turbo, should I upgrade the lower OC pipes or would that be just a waste of $$?

stock turbo has trouble filling stock intercooler because the stock intercooler is restrictive (the internal finning is louvred, hence its decent cooling capabilities).

never said that the stock intercooler doesn't work, it does. but there is better, the point all along. if it's about replacing the stock intercooler with a poor typical unit... i definitely agree... keep the stocker.

but i know which one i will buy when the time comes. all about the research.

Get a lower IC pipe, I guarantee results. YOU WILL be happy.

FASTER spoolup
WAY better throttle response
Turbo hits WAY harder
Turbo is less resistant to falling off and dropping preasure
10WHP easy gain

and yes the stock lower intercooler pipe is that bad, kinda reminds me of the Upper IC pipe on the 2G dsm.

Entertaining when those who don't understand turbos and intercoolers. Form and function.
Plug up a topic with worthless posts. You are giving some of us headaches.
What a bunch of dribble. " oh my stock turbo has a hard time filling up my stock intercooler, it can't handle an upgrade IC." Sounds like some of the EVO guys who throw an "upgraded turbo kit" on their ride and make less hp and run slower than the stocker. Then what do they do? Blame the turbo kit of course. Same deal with the IC's. Instead of making *** dyno and wild *** claims or guess. Get some real data. Charge air temps in and out of the IC. Psi readings before and after the cores.
Post something all can learn from.

ok, um any Lower pipe upgrade seems to be ok. I know AMS has one specifically, it is a 2 piece unit which I am not fond of but seems to work just as well. I have the full unorthodox racing kit, upper and lower. Great buy and made a VERY noticable difference. The upper pipe MAY add some WHP but nothing spectacular. It does however prevent boost leaks and probably batter throttle response. The Lower IC pipe is a horrible design, just terrible.

Look atthe AMS lower IC pipe, get that.

i believe the best intercooler is one of 4 depending on your application. br/nisie for hte ultimate in cooling, bar and plate give you extra heatsink mass that greddy rspec and arc lack. but increase mass means increase weight. nisei seems to do what br's does with less pressure drop but is is not without it's flaws... mainly being tall.

br and nisei both have solid numbers, gt40 and myevostore have the temps tests to prove the efficiency.

very few "proven" shops aren't running an intercooler... some do it to sell you something and so do it cuz it's actually worth something. it's not really up to anyone... the truth of hte benefits. but it is up to you if it's worth making your wallet a little slimmer.
