ok after a brief search i was able to determine that i wasn't wrong and the ACD is a constant 50/50 no matter were it is set. the settings only adjust the amount of time before the diff lets loose.

The Evolution 7 adopted a new Active Center Differential (ACD) that improves traction performance and steering response through corners. Replacing the viscous coupling-type with an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch differential, the ACD effectively regulates slippage in the 50:50 torque split center differential from free to lock-up to match driving conditions. Control is further optimized with a 3-way selector that enables the driver to override the automatic system and choose between Tarmac, Gravel or Snow modes for different surface conditions.

True it doesn't work that well for drag racing and at the bleeding limits of grip it can spook you pretty good in a turn.

The problem is in that the way the ACD duty cycles itself. It tends to have a little bit of lag and it can do it action kinda abruptly.

If you had a JDM Evo, you would also have AYC to deal with.

ACD does not split torq. Our EVO is lock 50/50 the whole time.
