My Evo will hardly crank or stay running..Help!!
I was going throght the gears the other night for the first time after cams,dyno tune, and clutch break in when the car cut off and stalled in 3rd gear....It would barely crank back up and now wont run for longr than 30 secondsand then you get the flooding smell...I figured it might be the coils so I changed them and the spark plugs with no luck...I unhooked the fuel mgmt unit and now the stock ECU is in place...It doesnt seem to be throwing any CEL codes and I do not trust the shops here in town and my mechanic and tuner is 150 miles away...Help please...Let me knwo if better explanation is needed...TIA for the replies

Also, the loose IC hoses will cause similar problems (that happened to me too
)
If a vacume line or ic hose is leaking or disconected, stalling or stmbling is gonna happen.
Computer reads air before turbo and adds fuel to match. But, in your case the air doesnt make it and too much fuel boggs, stalls, floods your car.
You can fix this. Take some time and go thru every connection. Not gonna be easy to find, but cheap to fix.

Double check again for vacuum leaks, specially in the UIP. The timing belt will take a bit more to determine if you jumped a tooth or not, but its doable without removing the whole belt side of the engine. Also it would help if you could tell us exactly what mods you have.
- You mentioned that you swapped out your ECU for another one, are you using another stock ECU, but just flashed?
- Any type of aftermaket fuel/timing control other than the flash?
- Do you have an ODBII tool scanner? If so, check what code you are getting with the original set up that the issue started with.
