Did lifters, now i own a subaru. HELP

so about 2 weeks ago i put on a new crank timing gear and tensioner and belt. maybe 200 miles my lifter went out. i put the new lifters in and a crank position trigger plate yesterday, redid the timing again and triple checked everything before cranking it over. i go to crank it over today and its running like a subaru now. im not throwing any cel's. my buddy who owns an evo 9 and i have done timing 5 times already so we got it down. we did everything just like we have before. i didnt change anything, just lifters and a new crank position plate. my afr's are really low but i have plenty of fuel pressure. my only hunch i have right now is my cam position sensor might have failed when i was removing and installing it again, because i unplugged it with the car running it did not affect the it all. still ran like a subaru.

Did you properly bleed the lifters? What brand lifters?

Time for compression and leak-down tests.

Do your self a favor and google "GSC zero tick lifters issues" and you'll see what's up. They make your valves hang open. I just dealt with the same issue. Put oem ones back in. Car runs perfect. Previously I got no compression in 2/3 and slightly leaking valves in 1/4. This was on a brand new built. New everything in the head with fresh valve job.

Edit- I should of stated that my machine shop over ground my valve seats wich made my valves sit higher wich then made my lifters bottom out wich then made the valves hang open.

Do a leak down test. That will tell you where it's leaking from. I bet it's your valves being hung open. Also if you can. Take the lifters out and do a leak down. It's pretty easy to take them out using a screed driver to pop the rockers out.

Some people seem to have no issues with the GSC lifters. Is it strictly a bleeding issue?

I had them in my head for 8k miles. Pulled head to get everything new put in it and a fresh valve job. The machine shop over ground my valve seats and that made the valves stick higher up wich bottomed out the lifters. Previously I had zero issues with them.
