Borla Exhaust Manifold is peeling can I scrape it off?

The Borla Exhaust manifold has been on the car less than a year and it looks great. However it has started to peel and when I contacted Borla in order for it to be replaced I have to pony up $700 for them to send me a new one. Then I mail mine back and after 3 weeks get my money back.

This is not all that appealing to me as an option and would rather just scrub it off to make it all look the same. Is there any method you all would recommend? Wire brush?

thanks for the help

I guess you could wire brush it off but the coating was on there for a reason. I can't believe they won't replace it for you.

They are willing to replace it for him, he just has to pay $700 as insurance for him returning the part, then he gets every penny back. Makes sense to me, they're practicing safe business procedures.

I wouldn't mess with it. Just return it.

I guess it's safe if you have an extra 700 laying around.

If I choose to return it should I take something and build it up so that my turbo has something to rest on?

Sounds like you don't still have the stock manifold? It would be best to just swap out the Borla with stock manifold, and have them replace it. Maybe someone has a manifold they could loan you.

well after talking with borla i'm going to go through vivid racing where I bought it and have it replaced under warranty work. its a fine piece and no need me in messing it up with a wire brush my car is down right now because of a busted headlight so I might as well just wait and do it right!!

I would just send it to someone to have it re coated. Then you can get the coating whatever you want.

that would void borla's million mile warranty.
