Just look at the factory bhp specs for the 03-04 GSR v/s the 05 with the 10.5 hotside. IIRC, it's 10bhp. Where the 10.5 helps is in the higher rpm's. I would'nt make this a priority 1 mod.

Actually, on the dyno you are seeing more like 10-15whp. It gets better the more mods you have.

The biggest hit you get from the 10.5 hot side seems to be in the midrange and not on the top end... so that is very misleading.

BTW, does the 10.5 hotside help stock turbo holding boost better? Is it possible to boost up to 25psi on stock 03' turbo (with 9.8 cm^ hotside)?

I believe so. But you won't get much more power out of the turbo than you would going with the 10.5 hotside. The lighter wheel will allow better spool up, but that's about it.

I guess it is possible, it happen to me. My car is stock, besides the buschur catback and test pipe, and RnR downpipe with the O2 eliminator pipe. Since I have Defi gauages I was able to see the peak measurement and it showed 1.7bar which is 24.6 psi. It happened only once, I was driving on a 4th gear and I wanted to catch up to my friend. Later on when I went back to reset the peak value and noticed the number I got shocked. Usually doesn't get any higher than 1.6 (besides this one time) and that is where I have my warning light and alarm setup. So i think it might be possible to push it to 25 psi.

so does that mean we have to build the turbo ourselves? maybe the buchar deal is worth it?

You don't build the turbo. You just take out the hotside of the current turbo and replace it with the new one. I'm going to try and do it without taking out the manifold.

From pictures, it seems like the hard part is going to be the O2 housing and that damn A/C compressor.

"hit"?? as in it's bad or it's good?

so you're saying you're gaining/losing power in mid-range???
