Try searching under "battery relocation", there are lots under that phrase. Also Works is developing a whole kit just for the evo to relocate the battery to the trunk. But who knows when that will be available.

i've seen one done. not too bad. re-routing the wires are the hardest part.

make sure you have the battery mounted pretty tight. Other than that, i don't see why not.

Well how much room do you need. What about a small battery kit like from Buschurs?

it's simple... just connect the new lead to the + and run it to the trunk. Ground in the trunk instead of engine bay.

battery relocation is not really a good idea unless you need the large battery (i.e. stereo systems). the added weight in heavy gauge cables running from the front to the back really will negate any effect of moving the mass of the battery to the rear. go with a mini battery. you will save space, and it is much lighter then the stock battery not including relocation cables.

One Battery cable from the trunk to the front is like 1 pound for 2 gauge.
No stereo setup either, I just don't like to get caught out with a dead battery.

Moving weight off the front and to the rear if done properly is a great idea.

so that means my battery is 20 pounds lighter, plus 1 pound for the added cable of relocation. additionally, the mini battery sopposedly has more cranking amps then the stocker. and if worst comes to worse and the battery is dead, the car is a manual so i will just push start it

moving weight off completely is even better yet

the weight is moved to the back giving better f/r balance though.
