big problem.. anyone with a service manual

errr..I was doing some wiring through the large ecu grommet and nicked 3 wires. A black (ground wire I assume) Green with yellow strip and Green with Black stripe. They make a left turn and head towards the steering column. I dont see anyway of repairing them so im look at rewiring them to the source. Does anyone have any clue where these wires lead refrenging the service manual?

must have been a pretty big nick... cant splice them back together...? you could buy and aftermarket harness for 139 from buschurracing... and then youll have more play with the wires...

if your going to wire them directly to the source.. you might have to cut into some other harness's etc etc...

any suggestions on how to fix this. The car isnt turning over now. I think one of these might be a turn signal wire.

this is the worst possible thing i could have done to my car probably

yes.. this is what happened. the two green wires got cut and i flipped on the ignition. The car started.. but then i went to ripp all of the gromet out because when i was feeling around inside it I though for sure i felt a cut wire. When i ripped it out i grabbed on to the black wire and it ended up snapping. (to make matters worse) So the car is cranking its just not turning over. Im thinking the black wire had something to do with ignition, and i have already found one has to do with the wipers. Im hoping both of the green wires are wiper wires. Im going to take off the steering colum right now to check on that.

I can definately reconnect the black wire. im getting ready to solder it. but the other two are inside the grommet! unless there is some way to slacken the harness and get it in the car about and inch its going to be near impossible.

i was putting in an avcr.. dulp, should have just stuck with my mbc.

I will recommend to everyone right now just to avoid that wire grommet.. its not worth the risk.. plus the wires are just loose inside the grommet! so its very hard not to cut anything while putting a hole through it. It wasn like the wires were shielded in the grommet at all.

Oh yeah and the reason the car isnt starting is because i fogot i disconected the ecu! I was able to attach the black wire. Now the wipers are working but im not sure what else is offline. Wouldnt the injector signals come from the ecu and not the steering column area/? Im really hoping these other two connections are nothing that will cause the car to blow up on the way to a service shop if it comes to that.

I think I found out what has been affected. Plugged the ecu back in and the engine runs fine.. but the anti lock button is illuminated and wont go away.. plus the break pedal is firm! Damn.

well if you look theres a grommit in the firewall.. pass side.. that you poke through from the engine bay with a screwdriver and it falls right out onto the floor...its painted what ever color the car is... easy to move
