with minimal mods with streetability (say 350whp or so daily driver), you can't beat the price and driveability of ACT.

I approve this message.
Which guy with the RPS is changing It?

tke 413,

All aftermarket clutches have their issues.

Twins and triples have floater(s) that can grab slightly when disengaged and can cause the tranny to occasionally feel notchy, and they may work the sincros harder. They also have a narrower engagement band that makes slow roll outs a challenge, especially when hot. They can also groan indiscrimently. $2000 - $3500 installed iirc. Exedy, ATS, RPS. Go with one of these if you are going to make big power (+ 450 crank hp IMHO) which you look like you are close to.

Twin metallics warp and wear out fast with high HP and can warp then chatter

Singles can be heavier and may have issues pulling out of gear at high rpm $1000 - $1500 installed - guessing. I've heard the ACT being recommend by the transmission guys, probably because of the floater issue with the twins.

All will wear out if you slip them and do a lot of launches, they just hold better.

Find your favorite tuner and use what they've used if they've used it for more than a few months.

I don't think there is a perfect solution, so you may end up trying them all!

New Question

I already read that whole thread which made me lean towards the ACT, but I posted this thread to maybe get some feedback on the Clutchmasters which I haven't heard much about. It's looking like I'll be ordering an ACT now though. The place doing the install said I don't need a new flywheel, he will just resurface my stock one. Any comments on this?

i just put in an ACT and love it. The guy who did mine said not to get a new flywheel. He just polished some of the marks (my flywheel didn't look bad at all) and put it back together. He also put in a SS clutchline at the same time. new lightened flywheel or your old, shouldn't matter.

Yes, resurface it. It's only $30

It depends on how bad the flywheel is. Check for cracks at the clutch surface. Lay a straight edge on the clutch surface and see how warped it is. They always try to cup away from the clutch when they warp so you will see daylight between the straight edge and the flywheel that gets bigger toward the center. If you can get a .040" feeler gauge betwen the straight edge and the flywheel I would probably replace it.

Good thing you are paid for blowing up clutches and not for data entry

The clutch is probably fine, it sometimes takes a while to get the clutch adjustment dialed in. If not, something got tweaked during the install.

I have had act hd street disc and cm stage 4. I hated the cm stage 4. I love the act hd its holds alot of power and is awesome to drive and can last way longer than any twin disc. I am currently at 492 whp and it has held up pretty good

Act hd street disc is what I would go with
