I think the point here is that you would have seen the same gains with a Flash as you did with the S-AFC, because you ended up right about where you're supposed to be with those mods, despite starting off way low. Flashes may claim 20whp, but that's just by itself with nothing else. As you add mods, the Flash is just a way to optimize those mods, so it's all relative.
Average stock Evo dyno's 219-225 on a MD. You had a bum pull on the baseline.

My MR dynoed 235/255 on a MD stock. Nice improvement shown on your slips but not 65HP.

Mind sharing your AFC settings with us? I know every car is different but I am just curious to compare them with my settings, I have similar mods and would like to see if I am remotely close to what you are at. Very nice numbers!

Correct MRs dyno around 225-245 on MD stock, '05 Evos do 210-225, us old folks do 190-210, I've seen plenty of stock '03s dyno around 200 on MDs

I dyno'd 248/238 on a Dynojet, so I'm not sure your Mustang Dyno reads much lower, especially when you compare our 12.8@106mph runs...

did you do one of those decelleration test? This is supposed to test for hp loss through the drivetrain.
I wonder what the HP loss factor is with these AWD's. I think the average for a FWD was considered to be around 18% (0.18)
Just curious since this is my first AWD performance car.

so a car makes 271 hp stock and it makes 196 whp??? since when do you lose that much power??? with turboback, intake, fuel pump, EBC i was making 258 whp, after reflash I made 288 whp. And I'm unhappy with that. I see people making 300 whp with my mods. Sumthin must have been wrong with the dyno read

I'm happy with the gain, I dont care about what I had, because all dynos are different.

The baseline for the Majority of stock evo's in 2003 would dyno between 190-205 AWHP.
That is a peak number that can vary significantly with ambient air temp and IC heat soak while on the dyno. This reading is typical for a car that had the Battery disconnected for over one hour while working on the vehicle. These are actual numbers not a "bum pull". We dyno evos everyday. I can post about 50 baselines on different evos alone.
Also the stock evo in no way makes 271 hp at the wheels. That is a corrected crank figure averaged thru the various magazine articles out there.
This is the real world and we use a real world dyno.
The only way to compare vehicles is to dyno on the same machine. And please people stop focusing on the peak numbers that can increase or decrease 10points on a good day of hard driving. It is about the total curve and the margin of saftey incorporated.

I haven't shelled out the cash just to check on the dyno myself, but I'm pretty sure the S-AFC can give 20hp to a stock Evo, if not more. My signature info is a testament to that. I went from 80 to 84mph in the 1/8 and 103.9 to 106.3mph in the 1/4. I don't attribute much, if any, of that gain to the K&N filter itself.

It boils down to the fact that all dyno's read differently. If youre going to compare one persons dyno numbers to another, they need to have been read on the same dyno, other wise its pointless. Don't get worked up over your car not making X whp on the dyno because another guy made 30 more with the same mods.
