How do I remove the throw out bearing from the pressure plate?

The service manual says take a screwdriver between the collar and rotate 90 degrees. But it's not working.... can any give me some advice?

There is a little thin piece of metal between the bearing and the pressure plate that you are actually looking for. Pry this over and it will release the bearing.

yeah what he said. if you don't do this right, you'll have to drop the motor...

Also if you have burned the clutch so much that it just slipps you may have fused the TB to the pressure plate.. i had to unbolt the pressure plate with the tranny case still on ..

Step 1) Put screwdriver in between TOB and Pull-Clip.

Step 2) Push down on TOB and Pull-Clip

Step 3) Twist screwdriver 90degrees.

Should pop out... You want to use a thicker screwdriver or even a putty knife would work.

hot damn, that worked like a charm. Trick is to be pushing on the bearing!

I'd say you'd have to rotate the crank little by little so that the pressure plate bolts would be visible through the inspection hole. ya could maybe loosen them one at a time that way.
