Well, I'm not here to disagree about the MR tranny..ok a bit. I've had both and I had a grind in 2nd with my 03, and my MR feels stronger...no grinds. It just feels tighter even though I think the throw is longer. Not many miles on it yet (2K or so), but so far I'd bet it will hold up fine. And I think that the original problem posted should be fixed by the dealer, and you'll probably be fine.

My late model 04 GSR (oct.) feels strong with 6500 miles on it now. No problems so far. Hopefully it will stay strong.
