Unhappy What Should I Do?

Ok here's the situation, i bought my evo last november. 6 months (now) and 7000 miles later my syncros go out. I know this to be a common problem with EVOs but is this going to happen in another 7000 miles? is there anything i can do to prevent this.
Do you think i should consider a different car? how does the MR tranny run? i really don't want an STI but if i will be paying the same price and have no problems then it might be the way to go.
Give me all your opinions please.

Eh, well, it sounds like an anomaly. Your syncros shouldn't all go out at 7k miles. The 5th gear syncro sometimes goes out, but not all of them. It should get replaced under warranty and not happen again.

yeah 5th gear syncro tends to go out on alot of evo drivers and mitsubishi will pay for the repair. down shifting from third to second in some cases makes a weird grind like noise that mitsubishi can't figure out and they will pay for that too...other then that the tranny should be fine.
And to you question about the MR tranny, 5-speed is stronger!!!

sorry i did mean that the 4th gear syncro went out but i believe the dealership is paying for all to be replaced. But you have never experienced multiple problems with the syncros or any other expensive part?

Definitely take it in under warranty, and while you are in there I have heard a lot of people have gotten nice aftermarket clutches thrown in to save a ton on labor. With such low miles you don't really NEED to do it, but might be an excuse to upgrade the clutch and flywheel and save a ton of cash.

If it keeps occuring, try changing your shifting technique.

I have 40k on my EVO, with 2 seasons of autox (with a co-driver) and with all that abuse, the tranny shifts just as smooth as it did when it was new.

one more question, has anyone ever had problems with any part of their tranny besides the clutch after 36,000 miles?

ok, so my car went to the dealer today to get the new syncros put in and when they took the tranny down they found that the third and fourth gears teeth were chipped. Anyone else experienced this? I don't drive this evo that hard but the tech said that the gears were being replaced with a newer style that are improved. And that they were repacing 3rd,4th,5th,and reverse syncros.
Here's the bad part. The gears are back ordered untill june 6th. so the car sits on the lift untill then. sucks huh?
next question, the tch said that he would throw on and aftermarket clutch for 80 bucks because it's all apart already, since my clutch isn't covered under warranty you think that i should go for it. and if so which clutch do you like?

all your input is great.
