spark plug clarity?
spark plug clarity?
The answers seem to be all over the board, but I'd like some new opinions on the
spark plugs.
I just ordered NGK BPR7ES. Are the BPR7EIX any better? Should I get one step colder and get BPR8ES? Check out my mods so far.
I'm getting hks272 cams installed next month, maybe I should go ahead and install a step colder then?
thanks

In my opinion and experience I have had the best luck with the BRP7ES plugs on the stock turbo hands down. The BPR7IEX are just a bit better and last longer but cost more. Why are they better becuase the stock ignition on the EVO has some weak spots and the IEX are a little more efficient so you do get a better spark. But once you figure the cost it is kind of a wash. On an upgraded turbo the IEX come into play alittle bit more if you are running stock ignition becuase you can notice the difference just that much more.
The 8s are fine but on the stock turbo I believe that they are just too cold. So do have good luck with them but it is one varible you have to test and see for your self.
Denso IW22/IW24 or NGK BR7ES/BR7IEX = Bad performance becuase they are not a projected plug tip.
