help car is not right

took cams out today and replaced lifters. also added walbro fuel pump. got it all back together and everything seemed to run fine. after about a half hour driving the car took a nose dive and wouldn't boost. had to putt 15 miles home. as soon as it started boosting it would nose dive. it feels like an intercooler pipe came loose but i checked everything and it is fine. any ideas?

Just a guess, but perhaps the pump is bad. It's probably one of the parts you installed, and the lifters won't cause that.

Get the code checked ( autozone pulls it free). Might be something silly, and just putting the car in limp home mode. Did you retune the afc for the cams? Bleed the lifters? If you did all the that, unplug the battery and let the ecu reset. Drive the car calmly for a few miles and see if it still does it.

If the boost spikes up then nose dives your probably hitting boost cut; check the connections on the boost soleniod and actuator.

Although, I have a feeling that might not be the case.

no it won't even boost at all. as soon as it hits 0 to 1psi on boost gauge it sputters.

My guess is that a connector came loose. Recheck all connections and check your cam timing. From what you are saying I dont think its the cam timing but its better to check it out and know for sure.

ok well i can't pull the code cuz it won't stay running. so i can't make it to autozone. i double checked the timing marks on the gears relative to the valve cover and it's still fine.

got it started and it's idling really rough. sounds like i've got huge cams in it or something. could this be a timing issue with the balance belt or something?
