Heat shield help

The upper i/c pipe is hitting my heat shield and causing it to rub off a bit. What can I do to correct this? I think the culprit is my HKS RS intake, as it forces the i/c pipe to rest slightly higher than it should be. Is there a solution for this?

Should I get a new upper i/c pipe? I'm not really interested in getting a pipe that will require the use of the minature battery. We go through batteries pretty quick in AZ and I like being able to hop on over to any store and pick up a battery if/when I need one.

I was thinking about getting cams as my next mods, but due to the upper i/c pipe issue, I'm now leaning towards a whole new intercooler set up. Can anyone make any recommendations on a i/c system that works well with the HKS RS and is easy to install (ie... meaning no modifying to make it fit)?

Thanks,
~D

Its really no big deal and has nothing to do with your hks intake. Mine did the same thing before i got the buschur upper ic pipe. The one i have does require the mini battery but they make one now that does not require the use of a mini battery. But the buschur is a very good setup with no modifications needed.

Okay, so I guess my next question would be:

Since the heat shield "issue" doesn't appear to be a big deal, would you go with a new intercooler sytem or cams?

I see Buschur has a sale going for a couple more days and they're selling the FMIC for $750 shipped. I've heard the BR i/c can be tricky to install. Is this true? If so, is there another i/c that would be easier to install and is highly rated?

If I go with cams, I found some low milage used HKS 264/264 cams for $420 shipped.

Suggestions?

As far as the bushur ic system, it is hand made so every one is different for mine i had to make some easy adjustments to the brackets so they would fit. But in my opinion the buschur is the best system with the straightest piping. They all are good in their own aspects, i am partial to buschur.

I would say get the cams though. For the money they will give you power, the ic is just to help cool everything and will help with turbo spool. I would get the 264 they wont make your idle very loopey and will give you good low end power. As far as the price that is a pretty good deal. And if you feel like driving to vegas i can install them for you for $100 lol.

Perhaps I just needed to see someone else write it out for me, but your logic makes perfect sense. I was just concerned about the heat shield so I thought I'd have to devote some time and money into the i/c. I think I'll go with the cams. Thanks!
