The turbo is rated at ~420hp at the crank. With the 71mm compressor wheel it will probably spool up realistically around ~400-600RPM over stock. Expect a 40-50hp gain on pump gas over the stock turbo. Maybe 40hp more on race gas.

The stock turbo on pump gas makes more than 420 crank with the right mods.

Do you think its worthwile to go with 2835 or with 3071?
Which one would be less laggy and better for street?

Thanks

I would think the 2835 would be less laggy, but the 3071 has a lot more HP potential.

Persoanlly Id rather have the stock turbo than the GT2835. Its a nice little upgrade, but considering the cost, effort, time, and aggrivation associated with an aftermarket turbo for relatively minimal gains, whats the point?

AMS claims the 3071 is a great street turbo with decent potential and the 3076 is a comprimise between street and strip with more potential at higher boost levels.

Ive heard the 3071 will put down ~400whp on pump and the 3076 about 420-430. On race, the 3071 runs out quicker than the 3076. Also, the 3071 should spool up only a few hundred rpm later than stock, 3076 maybe 600-700 rpm later.

IMO if you want a really steetable turbo with some actual potential, 3071 is the choice...and if your willing to sacfice a little more lag for power, 3076. But i woulndt go smaller than 3071, considering the cost/gain potential.

The GT2835 will be less laggy on the street then a GT3071, by a few hundred RPM. The GT2835 uses the same compressor wheel and A/R housing as a GT3071. The only difference is the smaller turbine wheel (54mm GT2835 and 55mm GT3071). A GT3071 is rated at ~450hp at the crank compared to the 420hp of the GT2835. The transient boost response will be better on the GT2835, but it gives up 30hp.

The problem w/ the HKS kit is the high price. Of course, most shops will slap on any turbo you want w/ their turbo kits.

Hey one more question... Check this auction on ebay 7978970386 . Is it real to get 40WHP just by this bolt on. I have 330WHP now and would it take it to 370WHP by this mod. Sounds nice if its true.

Please feedback.

Thanks
