REMOTE STARTER: Keeps firing.

Hey guys,

I have a remote starter on my car...recently, I've noticed that when I remote start....the car will keep firing for a lack of a better term. For instance, if you were to start your car up regularly with a key...but when you turn your key to start the car, and hold the key down after its been started...thats what the remote starter will do....does anyone have a clue as to why it's doing that?

It only happens sometimes, but its frequent enough ...like 2 outta 5 times..

There are programming option that tell the remote starter to start for X time and it the car is not running to try again in X seconds. It may not be properly sensing that your car is running and trying to refire it. Get in your settings and turn off the restart option. See if that fixes it.

I dont mean that the car starts...and idles..and then the car tries to restart again..I mean like...only the first time it tries to start...

imaging that you are starting your car with a key...but you hold the key down even after its started....that's what happens....but since it is the summer..it hasn't done it since..only in the cold weather..weird.

it might be resistance in the wiring......cold weather adds to it. dont sweat it too hard, unless you wanna double check all the slice and stuff.

It is illegal. In order for the remote start to work, you have to leave the car out of gear when parked, which is illegal in most states. However, that's not the point.

CuniTEVo8: The problem that you are encountering with the car continuing to crank the starter motor is because the alarm is not sensing that the motor is turning over fast enough to be "started" so it is continuing to try and start the car. The reason it is intermittent is because it is not properly "calibrated". Follow LEVIII's advice.
