all of a sudden my car lost power last thursday...i dropped it off at the shop and my guy took it for a ride and he says i'm only putting out 3lbs of boost.....what are the probable causes? has anyone had there stock turbo go bad or there wastegate go bad?...i'm running 20 to 21 lbs of boost.....i just installed the AEM a few weeks ago and the car has been spitting and sputtering a bit.....but i know i need a retune because i installed a new intercooler.....i just replaced the Blitz boost controller because it went bad....i don't think that has anything to do with it....3 lbs...geez...think its the wastegate or the turbo?.......and if its either of those what should i replace them with?...it doesn't make sense to replace them with stock parts.....thanks for you help

 

Well, does your guy know what the heck is wrong with it? Just a question.

 

IC Hose probally has a crack, My turbo has 60Grand on it with couple track days LOTS OF highway runs and No play. Maybe your Wastegate is stuck.

 

Check all you IC connections and vac lines. Yes you boost controler could be the issue also.

 

should check yr intercooler pipes for leaks.

 

well my guy hasn't had a chance to look at it yet..they are so busy...they are going to check it out in the morning....i'm just trying to get a jump on his diagnosis...... he just mentioned the probably causes....wastegate or turbo....my turbo is still stock

 

what Blitz boost controller did you have and what went wrong with it??

 

its the EBC newest one...it went bad last week and i actually went up to Blitz and they helped me replace it...so its brand new..when it went bad and stopped working it was putting out 11lbs of boost......so 3 lbs is way way low...i don't think its the boost controller its one week old....oh and he checked all the intercooler piping and he said it looked fine......

 

i have the i-D III i just whated to know what would happen if it failed.. thanks

 

also try to drop the down pipe i had my cat go back made back preasure turbo couldnt spool 2 - 3 psi boost max.

figured it out...wastegate arm broke off at turbo.....weird...it sucks...thanks for everyones help

 

How did it break? Is it the actuator that broke? Or the piece that attaches to the turbine housing?
