Question weird boost problem.

I can not boost over 20lbs, i have tryed going from the turbo nipple to the wastegate. Then i tried to splice the bov to wastegate. Now all i get is a higher spike. Still can not go past 20lbs. I have a Hallman MBC and forge WGA, I just changed it from a slowboy MBC and stock WGA and that didnt fix anything. I have tried diffrent preloads on the WGA that doesnt do anything. I tested for boost leaks, didnt have any. In 5th gear it will hold 25psi with the pedal to the floor but that is the only time it goes over 20. I have the MBC hooked up right. so its not that. With the stock WGA i would hold like 10lbs just running WGA pressure. Now with the forge i run 15. On just WGA pressure. Im lost i have no idea what it can be. I have HPF full hard pipe and forge BOV receric. With no leaks. Could i have done something in ECU flash that will keep me from boosting without running the stock BCS?

The ECU has no effect on boost when an MBC is installed, because that takes the BCS out of the loop. Have you tried putting in the stiffer spring on the MBC?

Thats what i thought too, i just wanted to make sure. No i didnt get another spring with either of my MBC's. i also figured that if i was doing 10 on stock WGA and now im doing 15 on the forge unit. That i should atleast get 25 psi with it turned all the way down. Because i gained 5psi with the FWGA

Yes, with the new, stronger WGA, it should adjust boost +10 like it was before. Very strange that it's not.

My Hallman boosted as high as I wanted on the spring it came with, but others have had Hallmans with weaker springs that wouldn't go over 20psi...just like the Forge that has two springs. However, that shouldn't matter now that you have the Forge WGA. That's a difficult issue to resolve.

well my o2 housing has like 2 bolts in it, i just found that out, so thats a leak right there but that is after the wastegate should that matter. I need to get some bolts for it and put some locktight on them put them back in. That is the only thing that looks to be wrong

It is only supposed to have 2 bolts on the DP side. Are you saying it only has 2 out of 6 on the turbo side???

Wow, how did that happen? The 2 nuts are on the studs, but you should have a bunch of bolts, too. You're saying there's just 4 holes with nothing in them? Wow.

Well today i decided to take off my hotside, just to find out if i could see anything wrong. Well i didnt find anything. I fixed my leak though put all new bolts and nuts on with a new gasket. Took off my stock 02 housing and put on the ebay housing. Still cant go over 20lbs of boost. no matter what boost controller i use. So now i am really lost. I even tryed flashing back to the stock flash all that did was give me fuel cut again haha. So anybody else have so suggestions.

[quote=llabmik2;4067945]........ I have tried diffrent preloads on the WGA that doesnt do anything.

Can you be a little more specific? What preload settings did you try exactly? What was the highest #?

Back from the dead

I know this is a 10 year old thread but did anyone find out what the problem was? I'm having a similar issue. I can't boost past 21 psi. I did hit 24 psi 1 x but that was only one time.

I did boost leak tests n had a small leak from my throttle body. Checked my plugs n all was good, e85 is good, car is tuned to be seeing 30 psi. I have full bolt ons, upgraded ic, 02 dump, speed density, 25g turbo, walbro 450, fic 1450, and hks exhaust camshaft.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, Tia.
