low boost question

i ordered the hks evc, and i want to run low boost and high boost

for high boost i would probably do 22-19psi...

but what would be the safest, lowest possbile psi for low boost? (taking a trip to FL in july) also would it be ok to use 87 octane gas for long travel? (according to the manual it says ok to use 87 for long trips)

try it and let us know. i don't think anyone have tried using 87 octaine at low boost on long travel.

i boost 22.5 psi daily.

lowest boost would be 18psi, otherwise you'll choke the car on fuel, you're already running rich.

I agree, I had my MBC set at 15 for a few days to see if I would get better gas mileage, and let me tell you, the car ran worse and actually got worse mileage. If you are going to run lower octane then it shouldn't be a bad idea to lower boost a little, but I would say around 17 or 18 should be fine and you will still get the same mileage. Juse ouit of curiosity, do you have a flash or an SAFC? If you don't, and you are striving for better mileage, that is the best way to get it. I got a dynoflash and saw my HP go up by 25 and my mileage ALSO GO UP by 3 to about 22 mpg from 19mpg. Highly recommend the flash... power and mpg, win/win situation IMO. Sorry for the long *** post, I have had several of these~~~>

hey man i'm not sure about the actane probably u will know better but about the boost, the hks has 2 setings on it i guess like the apexi 1 so the seting for low boos and the safe 1 would b the stock boost of the car no matter how low u go on ur boost controller the car would not go lower than the stock boost unless u manualy do it from the boost sprin so i think the safest is to run stock boost 0.8 bar not sure what is that in psi good luck and all the best man

yeh, actually I agree that Flash did help my mileage. Flat line AFR does really benefit performance and daily driving mileage.

I could drive semi hard and normal now and the gas would last 2 or even 3 more days than before.

Sometimes when I'm good, it'll last me the whole week, until the weekend hits.
