don't worry soo much about it man. You'll be ok. Nothing beats K& N filters IMO. You need oil to trap the dirt. By the way, I have a used one 4 sale hehe. $35 bucks shipped! I'll even clean it before I ship it. Used 2000 miles or so.

the k&n r good, but if u dont want 2 deal w/ the oil factor, ill sell u a ralliart <foam> drop-in filter for 45 shipped. they retail for over x2 that brand new. i used it for approx. 500 miles before going w/an open end filter. either way, loluck.

the oil issue usually affect those cars with hot wire type mass air, like toyota celica. Remember to keep your stock airbox and not go for those cone filter setup IMO. I wish I could still use my stock airbox. I have RMR IC piping that forces me to remove it. Bottom line, you will be fine with the drop in!

Isnt the k&n drop in the same material as the cone filters? That oil is on there to trap dirt. I would not run it w/o the oil.

I would go with Works or Apexi over K&N.

my k & N came pre oiled. they all should. the only reason that you have to re-oil is when you clean it with something that takes the oil off of it. i payed around $75 for mine i think, but cant remember for sure. it will make the stock BOV, and intake system a little louder but not much. good luck.
