wow my drive train has been very strong and smooth. I am on my third clutch twin disc this time in only 33k. However I drive the car very hard. Redline is achieved everyday all the time. The evo keeps ticking. Maybe you guys should drive the cars harder LOL!!

i used the correct fluid, OEM and Redline MT-90 in tranny and its not working. im switching to pennzoil syncromehs is cheaper than Redline also and heard its a lot more effective. I just raced last night with my tranny acting very notchy and mis shifted 2nd, i can feel the friction of the gears everytime i shift even in traffic and is EXTREMELY notchy at even idle. Only time the tranny's smooth is when the car's off....nice ;/

Hey all,

Yeah that's a bummer. May just be luck of the draw. FWIW, I use Redline MT-90 and Neo RHD in the TC and Rear diff. 39K miles, stock clutch. No slipping and shifts pretty good. I have never autoxed or brought this car to the strip, but I do hit redline several times each day. Oh two gripes, I do get occasional clutch chatter, but only when cold. Also, I get high rpm slight grind when shifting 4th to 5th, which you probably shouldn't be doing that much anyway, hehe (~115mph).

I'm very happy with the car. Supercar performance with a good amount of practicality. I drive my daughter to daycare 5 days a week and drive the car year round, heh. It even has 4 doors and my wingless Evo with baby shades is a good sleeper.

I used to think I had a lemon. Car didn't feel "that" fast when stock, and I had the dreaded decel noise pretty bad. My car really woke up with mods and after addressing the IC hoses and correctly gapped spark plugs, and I was very pleased to make 331 WHP/338 TQ actual on Pruven's dynojet. Decel noise is pretty much gone, or at least my exhaust covers the sound. If I can get a way to drive without the 50HP sucking silencer all the time, it would be ideal.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to share a positive experience. Also, there may be a fix that will make you love the car all over again, or bring the love to a new level. When I think back to the time I couldn't rev through 4-5K rpm without a stumble I gringe. This went on for MONTHS. Swapping back to stock plugs wires (from Magnecor which didn't fit right) and using NGK copper plugs gapped to ~.025 made all the difference in the world...

Good luck,
