Have you tried a GT 35R and whether 610 WHP ( turbo only) sounds bout right?? Cause I will go ahead with the T67 if thats the case.

wtf? 200 hp gain off of 8psi? Did you do something else? I gained about 95hp from 9 psi gain.

Not surprising considering you gain up to another 40 hp on race C16 fuel alone at the same boost. More timing at big boost levels = big power!!!

I guess that's true. I can't adjust timing so I'm stuck at about 19 degrees. I only run 100 octane though, because I don't see any gains running 110 or 116 due to not being able to mess with timing. If I ran 30+ psi I would probably go with 110, but I might as well stick with unleaded since it seems to run fine at 28psi and 12-12.5 af ratios.

timing and fuel=h.p...I know the heat treatment of the engine helps alot. She runs way cooler than any other turbo car I`ve seen.

Dixon, do let us know when you solve the problem and share what the cause was ok? An unusual, hence interesting problem.

Cheers and good luck

One of the cases where it would be nice to still have a MAF sensor someplace. (Like a big 4" LS6 one) More air-mass/sec = more power ... assuming everything else is equal anyway.

For now, unless there turns out to indeed be a boost leak, I'll subscribe to the turbine being the weak link. I don't think the exhaust gas pulses are hitting the turbine with enough force to push any more air through the compressor. Twin scroll with a larger turbine wheel might solve the problem ... maybe ...

What's wrong with wanting more power? There's no such thing as "too much power"... and its certainly not a bad thing to be greedy when it comes to power with cars.

BTW, this thread is very old... and revived randomly from the dead.

Its a stock headed motor. Try porting the head and letting more air in. The ports have become the restriction at that point it sounds like. Air=Power. If more air (psi) is not making more power, then it means that CFM is limited somewhere in the system, this case its not the turbo. Even with nitrous he wasnt making more, I would put a fair amount of money on stock ports.

So because he tried to add horsepower and something is wrong with his car, he shouldn't ask for help? This is an evo forum, right?

Let the man ask questions, he is trying to figure out a problem and people are willing to help him.

sounds to me like you have maxed out somthing! restriction somewhere. i know similar things were happening in the srt community. guys would add boost, but wouldnt get any more power. added timing, same. what we eventually found out was that the intakes made by one of the vendors just couldnt flow enough. when they swapped out to a better brand, the power jumped through the roof! check for the restriction. it could be intake, exhuast, cams, head, etc
