Might be 60K but warranty void as the car leaves the lot

Ya know...funny thing is after looking at output shaft, my other tranny quirk makes alot of sense now. Once in a while I would have a problem putting my car into reverse, like it just would not go in, even grind once in a while. I know why now! Lol

I had shifting issues since i had my car........

Replaced the clutch line with a braided shorter one,
Replace the underhood bushings and the shifter bushings with lancer shop parts.
Replaced the shifter with a kartboy short throw.

Now I actually love the way my car shifts, very nice

Also before i replaced these parts i put in royal purple ,,, then redline oils ,,, didnt do jack

Now I have syncomesh and everything is good.....

Try replacing these parts and see what it does for you.

Me too, except they put me a whole new tranny. Also put in my ACT clutch while they were there. I have the orginal TSB in PDF format PM me your email address and I'll send it to those interested. TSB-04-22-003.

Well I had Mitsu install an ACT clutch as well, so if you have any other problems your screwed. They replaced all my syncros and the 5th gear grind came back in a few thousand miles and when I took it in they said they would not warranty it because of the aftermarket clutch (that is per the district rep) So my advise is if you want to keep your warranty keep the stock clutch. Just a heads up, cuz I been there and done that...Thats why I have a TRE rebuilt tranny now

Took my '03 in for the TSB when shifting 1-2 got very bad with serious grinding at above 5500rpm. They had the car for over a week (I was away so it wasn't a big deal) and they copped out by saying that the entire problem was the clutch/pressure plate/TOB. They did nothing for the synchros/tranny.

My clutch wasn't slipping and still doesn't slip. I'm not even sure if they looked at the synchros/tranny.

If I need to replace the clutch, I am not going to use OEM parts. If the problem is actually the synchros/tranny (not the clutch) and I go back with an aftermarket clutch they'll laugh in my face.

Catch 22. Any suggestions?

The 1-2 grind appears to exist even on brand spanking new 05's.

I hate to say it but since mine only does it once a month or so I am just gonna continue to beat the crap out of it and if the tranny goes south then Mitsu will have to work some warranty magic.
