The ACT has a clamp load of at least 2900 lbs. 14 lbs is not a light f/w.

well, first off Exedy flywheel number is not FF01 - and FF01 also does not weight 14 lbs (that is a Subaru part number)

Second, clamp load on the Exedy organic clutch for the Evo is 3010 lbs

most have used ACT since its proven itself and has been out longer - the Exedy pieces are both brand new, so no feedback yet

However, on other cars, I can vouch for how nicely these clutches behave - totally streetable, with good measure of holding power. In my old Impreza ('99 model), I ran high 11's with the Exedy Sport clutch + Exedy flywheel, and drove the car everyday

yeah exedy has always made good clutchs...so has ACT but the exedy in the comparison holds more force - power. Like Z1 said the exedy in this case is pretty new...but again there clutchs to me are just as good as ACT or better....

its cool man..from what i hear it depends on if your flywheel needs to be clean or should i say resurfaced if it needs it before putting the same one back on...but if you are interested in a flywheel anyways why put a clutch in and wait down the road to put a flywheel in...pay for the labor once you know?

From our testing of the Exedy (a year ago, which may have changed) we have about 10% more clamp load over theirs. I think ours will hold a bit more power, but the engagement will be a little more abrupt and the pedal effort is a bit higher. There are other differences, but I am not going to get into a pissing match. If you are looking for an upgrade that is more street friendly for moderate power, the Exedy is good, while the ACT is better suited to the spirited driver or higher power, IMHO.

Obviously I am bias, but I think the assessment is fair. Take it for what it's worth. If you are looking for more of a sales pitch, I won't do that here. Email me directly.

Hi, Dirk.

Still got the ACT and its holding Strong!

It seems that it has broken it meaning it doesn't have the rough "bite" around the edges as It once had. It still holds, Grabs like day one without any slipping whasoever.

This would be normal correct?

Why does the ACT say "for 5 spd only?" I had one installed on my MR (based on RRE's recommendation) and it seems fine.
