Anyone knows that if you race on any type of oil it will loose some of its life. It will start to break faster and it won’t last as long. If he raced with his oil then went back home and kept driving with the same oil he will keep loosing more. The oil has lost its strength. I know that my words fly over your head and you don’t read the thread and you post before you read.

About the other turbo please pm me so we can chat about it. Lets not waste the poor guy time.

I know exactly what i read....but you see all these people burning oil? Doubtfull they are spending thousands upon thousands of miles on the track.

And i assume people are smart enough not to track their car for 800 miles and not change the oil. Although, im still standing by that i doubt he did that.

Well if you base facts on assumptions then you are right

You guys are too much, lol... Anyways, I was playing around under the hood tonight after reading this thread and I noticed something. Please don't make fun of me if this is stupid. I checked my oil when the car was hot, in 90 degree weather. (1hr after the drive home from work). The dipstick was oriented in the way that the dipstick label of "Engine Oil" was able to be read from the front of the car. I decided to turn the dipstick around so that it read backwards from the front of the car, "lio enigne" (kind of like that, but you get the picture). When I did this, I checked the oil level again and to my surprise, the oil level was significantly higher than it was with the dipstick facing the normal way. Yes this was on level ground. This really isn't a big deal. Either way you orient it, you're still going to see a loss if you consume oil, but I just thought I'd share that with you guys. I wonder if this does have something to do with oil problems. Which way is everyone's dipstick facing?

If anything, being so easy on the car may cause oil consumption in my experience. car only had 10 miles on it from the dealer. 1 quart of oil consumed per 1,000 miles is considered acceptable by mitsu service dept. So unless you're burning more than this and aren't leaking, they're not going to do a damn thing for you.
I read in car in driver that oil consumptiom had to do with break in. Could they be wrong. I believe it was the issue where they were about to give in their long term Evo.

My car has 6000 miles on and I called all the dealers in my area and some to my sad realization dont know much about the car ( theone in the poorer areas). Before the first change (less than 3000 miles of no boost) I lost 1.5 quarts the dealer said that the "factory doesnt always top off the car like they should" and they " had seen this alot". So now coming up for my second change in six months and I'm a little over 1/2 quart low again, with no leaks. So I'm heading back to the dealer, there is no reason for a car todo this with such low miles.

I totally agree with you man... The funny thing about my case is that I put 1,200 miles on the car before my first oil change and it didn't eat a single drop during the break in. Then all of a sudden it starts guzzling it. Definately no leaks, 100% certain. Had a friend who's a Toyota tech even help me check. I do most of my own oil changes so I'm positive that Mobile 1 FS 10w-30 is what's being used. Maybe we should try something a little thicker?
