What do you guys think of the new DC Sports manifold available for the EVO. It was featured in the newest edition of Turbo Magazine. They tested it on project EVO and gained 11whp and 4ft/lb from bolting it on. Their EVO only has basic upgrades at the moment (except for the AEM EMS). I believe it has a lifetime warranty on it - DC has been around a long time, Id trust them more than say... a Megan Racing manifold, in quality terms. I know IP is selling them for $369... thats not bad... it looks awesome too, I wish I had a picture. If you have turbo mag Im sure youve seen it already.

Im wondering if porting/coating my manifold and 02 is a better idea than my current idea which would be to get the DC mani and Helix 02 (which I have but its not installed).
Question to David B - Is it worth it to port the exhaust manifold if your turbo is not ported?

We have most of the parts on the shelf already ported/coated ready to ship. We would prefer to have your cores first.

The 20 whp gain we had with the porting/coating of the manifold, turbine housing and o2 housing were not just gained by bolting them on but with further tuning. If I remember right (somewhere on here the details are printed) I was able to run more timing without knock after the porting/coating which helped gain the power. The decreased back pressure and heat would have allowed that. This same gain would be realized on a car that was on the edge of detonation running a stock or reflashed ECU too.

I prefer the stock manifold over a header for both reliability under hood temps. The factory manifold is a very-very good part, expecially when coated and ported.

Dave,
Are the manifold portings on an exchange basis? Reason being is that I have an EGT hole tapped into mine.

I just put on a maxfield tube mani from Gruppe S.

This mani is an innexpensive 304ss just like most, just without the ALS bungs. Same pattern as DNP,SS,Megan. 2 less welds than the DNP, two more welds than the SS,Meagan.

One thing i noticed was this mani pairs the outside and inside runners (cylinders 1,4) into the twin scroll port nearest the front bumper of the car and the runners in the middle (2,3) pair into the twin scroll port nearest the block.

Exactly opposite as the stock mani. Is that bad?

A$$ dyno likes 5th much more than before. Looks pimp.

The prices listed above are with your cores. We can sell the parts outright but the price goes up substantially. I do have quite a few ported/ceramic coated 9.8 housings I would sell outright for those prices with no core.

If you are going to do the port work piece-by-piece, I'd start with the 02 housing and work my way to the manifold.

If you send us a manifold with an EGT bung or any other hole in it we will port that one and return it to you.

Hey quick question about the ported and coated 10.5 housing.. are you aware of any work done to the 20G that would prevent me from swapping on a different (ported and coated) 10.5 housing? As far as I can tell the 20G's work is mostly in the compressor side and some clipping of the turbine itself. I was going to take off my 10.5 housing and have it coated locally, but got concerned about them adequately masking the close tolerance areas of the housing.. I should have reminded you guys that I wanted my housing done because it was never documented that I wanted it done.

The Buschur mani is perfect for someone like me who wants to put on a part and then forget about it. Do I ever need to worry about cracking? Nope.

That's also why I like the Works 02 housing. It's cast, comes with the stock support mount and won't ever crack. Zero worries.
the works housing however weighs two arms and two legs and then costs the same. so unless you consider your wallet getting lighter... you're adding a lotta weight.

my suggestion, get the stock mani ported and coated, get the hot side ported and coated. get the dnp o2 housing and get yerself a dp that don't rub.

You can only port so much - works is a full 3" - look at it vs stock o2 housing on left
