please help, my DIY gone wrong

I'm in the middle of changing my manifold but the last screw stripped and broke off into the piece below it which I don't know what it is. I believe the O2 housing is to the left of the peice. I tried to do this without taking the O2 housing off but I now I know I need to. How do I take the radiator off? Any suggestions on what to do to help me out? The broken bolt is still connected to the stock pieces. What is the exhaust manifold bolted to? I hope it's not the turbo. I will never attempt to install something again...

I believe you are talking about the hotside of the turbo. Is a square 4-bolt pattern?

yes sir , my bolt is stuck between there and the manifold. I should have taken the inner bolts off first, this way all the weight wouldn't be on it.

Yeah, you're prolly gonna need to pull the turbo out to drill and tap that bolt out, I think. You can do it with the radiator in the car, which makes it easier, since you won't have to deal with coolant spilling everywhere. A good piece of advice is tp put some cardboard between the turbo/manifold and the radiator, since the aluminum can be destroyed easily from wrenches and whatnot...DIY's are nice. Running into problems is how you learn. If you have to take out the turbo, then you know later on how you can swap it out if you get a bigger one? Trying to help you see the silver lining...

Hahaaaa, I did the same thing! Safe yourself the headache and just buy a new hotside. You can get a stock one from someone on these boards for pretty cheap...or do what I did and get a new 10.5 hotside.

Amen. Don't be upset. Don't think about this as a broken part, look at it as an opportunity to upgrade.

Yeah don't let it get to you... I'm sure you'll find a cheap one around here somewhere. Just use it as an example of what not to do next time. I've broken a lot of things on my evo too. Just remember, it can be fixed so try not to worry about it.

i'm broke because I just paid for textbooks. Even if I did upgrade I would still need to pay for the install. Time to work the corner.

If it's a screw, you could try some lube and a screw extracter?

It's a bolt right? There is also no way to get a grip on it with the manifold on. Forget about using an EZ out. It will never work. Those things are really in there. Hence the broken head. You my friend are screwed. The turbo and manifold are going to have to come out from the top (if that is possible). I feel for ya bro.
