I have Buschur Stage 4 and if I were you I would invest in something other than an intercooler. For the price get an exhaust. You will notice more with an exhaust than an intercooler. I didn't notice a big difference when I put mine on.

I think you will see at least a 5 whp from just a FMIC with stock piping. You will also see quicker spool up due to the pressure decrease. With aftermarket pipes and a FMIC you should definately notice a gain. With a bigger turbo and more mods the gains will increase obviously.

I got hit in the front and the intercooler was toast along with the radiator, bumper, and hood. So I went aftermarket on these parts. It's way cheaper.

You will not see better boost response with a bigger intercooler. Intercooler's like turbo's need to be matched for the application. The stock one is just fine for your application.

Go to Buschur and get the Stage 4 package and stop guessing. The stg 4 will put you in the 112-116mph trap range on pump gas the E.T is up to your driving.

Good luck.

The stock FMIC is fine and an upgraded unit will not yield any noticeable power improvement on the stock turbo. However, the lower intercooler piping will definitely help with throttle response.

116mph on pump gas with only stage 4?? HA HA HA HA HA

with alky maybe, but you need either alky or race fuel to accomplish that.

Damien,

You may not notice any gain at this time, but since your stock one has been damaged, you might as well install an upgraded intercooler to allow for future gains....

Sorry for the one time threadjack, but...

gsujeff55,
Why do you believe that a Buschur stage 4, which is every bit as effective or more as your setup, will not trap over 115?

Again, sorry for adding this sidenote to your thread Damien.

Since you need a FMIC intercooler anyway, which I think is the point as you said the car was hit in the front, you may as well upgrade. I think most aftermarket kits are cheaper than the stock unit.

On a 320 whp EVO with a stock turbo you will see 13-15 whp with our FMIC upgrade. On bone stock car with just an intake, probably not much. As said maybe 5-7 whp.

Also, The BR Stage 4 on 93-94 octane, no alky, has gone 112 mph runs and over. The 116 mph is the absolute upper limits and I would like to back that up with my car but can't. My car has had the head and shortblock done in it and has gone 117+ on straight 94 octane, but is not a trued Stage 4 only car.
