if you want 0 problems, i would highly recommend spending a little more $ to get something nicer. i (personally) have never seen or heard of quality products from Megan. I would suggest a nice JIC Ti piece or maybe even Greddy's Ti...
I would contact Zeus and ask him about Megan . He deals with them directly and from what I know about Zeus he wouldn't sell it unless it functioned. here is the thread he started about the Exhaust from megan. Some of your questions maybe answered in here https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=149671

2) Under $600? You sure? That's a steal...get it while you can, because it's normally $600.
3) Don't listen to HouseDJ. He's suggesting you spend more for just a cat-back than you would on the entire 3" Megan, which gives the same hp and fitment as the ones he mentioned...

1.true
2. 545 plus shipping thru Zeus see link
3. also true, sorry house DJ
the greddy Ti is definately a better peice than the megan, and also ways more, but since ur on a budget id say go with a buschur turboback just because the quality is alot better than the megan. u get what u pay for.

1) Megan = $15/hp
2) Buschur = $20/hp
3) Greddy Ti = $40/hp and an 8lb weight savings
You people are who make Greddy and HKS owners so rich...
I have no problem with Buschur's price...I think it's very reasonable and obviously proven, althought not too attractive (least important factor).
agree with Warrtalon once again. Nothing wrong with megan quality. Alot of guys are running their TB simply cause of cost, and from what the boards tell me very few (if any) have reported problems. Helix on the other hand I would run from
Seriously, it's a piece of 3" metal tubing. other than fitment issues and sound, how much better can one be from another?
As far as exhaust is concerned, you're paying for a name, not the product.
I'm hoping to bend my own 3" TBE exhaust. With that logic, mine will probably lose hp, right?

see i think the same thing about name brand products.....your paying for the name, not the product. thats why i was curious about the megan racing exhaust......anyone have a sound clip?
as far as hp numbers im sure they're all pretty close but different exhaust definitly sound differently from others. put a borla exhaust on the side of a megan and im sure u could tell the difference. its not that the megan one is bad but borla has a deep tone to all its exhausts, thats what makes so noticeable from the rest!
Before anyone makes comments about HP/dollar there would have to be real dyno test done on a complete 3" turbo back and the day that happens I would love to be involved in it!
Also, before any comments about how our exhaust looks are made please make sure you are commenting on anything built in the last year or so. Ours are not polished but the quality of the welds, flanges and stainless really can't be beat. A robot can weld better than our in house human welder but beyond that, I don't think you will find better.
Nothing against Megan but since we are being compared. Ours is the LIGHEST stainless steel system on the market. If you are looking for performance you better consider weight too. Our system is 36 pounds LIGHTER than the stock exhaust system
Our price on a complete turbo back 3" CNC mandrel bent 304 grade stainless steel exhaust is $825 shipped to your door. What you get with that is:
3" mandrel bent stainless downpipe
3" offroad pipe OR a 3" highflow cat.
3" catback with NO resonators and NO reducers
3" stainless steel muffler, YOUR choice of either our lightweight (loud) muffler or the Magnaflow muffer
If you choose the offroad pipe you also get a CEL fix included.
All bolts, nuts, washers, clamps and instructions are included.
Start adding up the highflow cat and such and shipping and then find out how good a deal some of the other systems seem. Remember, not only do we make big HP numbers with our systems we also take the largest amount of useless weight off the car with our system. Less weight equals more speed and less broken parts.
Thanks for letting me jump in.

I can't speek on the quality of the megan cat back system, but I can personally speak about therir cat delete. The quality of the product was great. Megan sent everything needed for a quick and easy install. My girlfriend also has a megan muffler on her honda accord. I personally think that it is one of the best sounding mufflers I have heard on a honda. She has had it for at least two years and has experinced no problems.
