Where can i find just lower ic pipes?
We have our new pipes in the shop finally for the lower i/c pipes. They came in yesterday. They did however forget to send our prototype back to us so I can't build the jig for the lower pipe. I should have it today.
Our pipes will go from the stock intercooler to the factory turbo outlet pipe, which I am assuming from the picture of AMS's their's does the same thing.
We made it out of mandrel bent 304 grade SS tubing. 2.5" all the way to the factory pipe.
I see you are also interested in upper i/c plumbing, we have that too. 2.5" polished stainless steel, mandrel bent. Goes from the throttle body all the way to the FMIC.
Upper i/c pipe is $330, includes the BOV, either the 1g or the Forged, you pick.
I haven't put together a price on the lower pipe yet, I have to look at the bill for the bending and figure in the couplings. Should be about $100.

You are correct that the AMS pipe tapers. Any lower intercooler pipe that is designed to work with the stock turbo will have to as its outlet pipe is 2" (guesstimate). I guess it depends on how you taper to it. The AMS pipe has a nice clean taper
. I believe the stock pipe actually reduces to 1.5"
. An abrupt transition can actually cause turbulence and poor flow.
BTW -- The AMS pipe is made out of aluminum
