Unhappy Fuse keeps blowing can't figure out why?!?

Hey guys, help please!!! In the fuse box under the hood, there are 2 fuses for the parking lights (right side and left side), and the one for the right side of my car keeps blowing out no matter how much amperage the fuse can handle. Its supposed to be a 7.5 but i found a 10 amp in there. I'm the second owner of the car and I think the guy who owned it before tapped the new guages he added into that fuse which is why it was a 10 amp, but why would it suddenly keep blowing it out? Also the dash panel lights aren't working so i guess its on the same fuse... any idea on how to fix this cuz i really dont feel like getting pulled over for my lights being out.

Cool

disconnect the gauge lights and replace the fuse to start. if your lights are now illuminated, then you have your problem solved. you will need to find another spot to connect the gauges to for them to illuminate. sounds like he may have connected them at the rheostat(the dash light rotory thingy to make them brighter or dimmer). =-) if the lights still blow the fuse then, you my friend, have an electrical short somewheres.....good luck

You probably have open wire touching something and grounding, check the connections to the gauges and make sure you don't have any loose ends. Make sure your using the right fuse also. I had the same problem, it unded up being a wire which had touched a metal bracket.

After working on this problem some more I just realized how strange this electrical system really is, can anyone explain why the brake light, parking light, reverse light and dash panel lights be all on the same fuse...? The only thing that works on the right side of the car is the HID/Highbeam/Fog and the blinker...
