cat back exhaust

hey all I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for the perfect cat back exhaust.

I liked the look of the Helix catback because of the long tip - so I wouldnt have to worry about getting **** on the back bumper, but I've seen alot of posts about it not fitting well.

I like most of the exhaust "looks" but my main problem is the tip not sticking out far enough.

What are you guys running, and are you happy with the HP gain and longevity of the tip? Do you get stuff on back bumper?

I was looking at lancershop.com, but am open to more suggestions.

will be purchasing in the next few days.

Thanks

I have the Megan Racing catback, and the tip easily clears the bumper. It is a great sounding exhaust too.

Really? Nice.

It seems to be like the cheapest one around, does it fit well?

Did you notice the power gain a little?

Go with JIC magic bullet - great sound - not too loud. Butt dyno regesters high gains. get it at forcedinductionauthority.com - great price.
I liked it so much I got the JIC header / downpipe combo too!

The Megan exhaust fits great. As for the power, I installed some other stuff with it so I don't know how much came with the exhaust alone.

TURBO XS is a nice less expensive exhaust that sounds better than most i've heard. Also got a lot of compliments on the way it sounds. IT fits to a T but only thing that you may have issues with is it sits on an angle to have more flow, but it gets hot like all exhaust and it touches like one lil point on the bumper underneath.. it melts it after a bit, but its nothing you can see without crawling underneath.. lots of other exhaust cause this also but isnt mentioned much since its no one pays attention lol

go to a exhaust shop and get a custom fabricated 3 " turbo back. it will probably be cheaper than a catback and would give you twice the power gains

why do you think it would give twice the power gains?

I had a custom tbe setup on 03 evo before I got rid of it. I had an N1 muffler at the end.

I could notice a little gain. My friend with an 03 evo had the same exhaust as me (custom) and he said when he got rid of it and switched to the Buscher Racing exhaust it was alot better.

It's all the same crap, man. The hp gains will be minimal...maybe slightly noticeable, but they all do the same thing. IT's not like one gives more HP than the other as long as they're all 3". Get the cheapest one you can that still looks good and clears the bumper...that would be Megan. Don't spend more than $350 on a piece of piping+muffler. I have just a cat-back for the same reasons as you, but it has been good for low 12s. You can get the one I have from Logic Performance, or just get the Megan (very similar).
