oem blow off valve problem.

alright so yesterday i was driving on the freeway goin' about 60-65 mph 5th gear.
i go to do a lane change and step on the accelerator about half ways and during the lane change i hear a loud noise (all presure releasing at once) from the BLV. at the point that it happened i was at about 36 or 3700 rpm. the turbo barely had any pressure since i wasn't stepping it all the way. well no i can't go above 3300 or so rpm's since it's releasing all of its pressure. i can't see any damage from up top so i can't tell if it's the BLV itself or a line. i know it's not the turbo since it's still trying to get pressure. so i took it over to the dealership today but since they are only open on saturdays for oil changes i have to wait till monday. i don't race my evo for the sole purpose of not messing anything up and then this happense. i'm wondering is the BLV under warranty? is it considered part of the turbo? how much does an OEM BLV cost? and is there any aftermarket BLV that will work better than the OEM. not noise wise. i can care less if it makes the noise i just want my car to be healthy again.

p.s. if there is already a thread like this i'm sorry for reposting. i tried looking but didn't find anyone else with the same problem. thanks

U sure its the OEM BOV? Maybe you just blew a intercooler pipe off.

i dought it would go above 3300rpms in 5th gear, it wouldn't have enought power without boost. If your I/C pipe blew off, you could still drive it but it would run like crap.

from idle till 3300 rpms it runs fine. in 5th gear below 3300 rpms the turbo still doesn't kick in. so i shift at 3000 rpm to get it up to 5th which is roughly 60 to 65 mph. anything above 3300 rpm when the turbo kicks in it runs like crap upon crap. but i don't think it's the intercooler pipe since i can still drive it around. below 33000 rpm that is.

Ummmmmmmm it sounds exactly like an intercooler pipe that popped loose but still "looks" tight. As soon as the system is pressurized it is leaking. Do a boost leak check.

Well, theres a leak between the turbo and trottle body. The only thing to do is really get in there and find it.
