Ralliart vs Works Drop In

I'm debating between the Works or the Ralliart drop in and I was hoping someone would have something to say to convince me in one direction.

I like the fact that the Ralliart is dry, and foam, yet rather dense so it should flow well, and filter pretty good. But the Works should filter better, but Im not sure how well it will flow compared to the Ralliart.

Thanks for any advice.

I dought you would feel a difference between the 2. I have the Works filter and its great. Its also washable, so its the last filter u'll have to buy. I don't know if the Ralliart is washable or not.

Any more on this? Is the Ralliart washable? Any other ideas on filtering effectivity?

I went with the Works for whatever its worth.

Basically the Ralliart is going to flow more but not filter nearly as well.

In the long run I would rather give up a few whp (if that) and get the better filtering.

I just ordered the works filter because it sounded like there was a history of not knowing which style Ralliart filter you were actually getting when you ordered it.

it honestly will not make any difference what drop in filter you use....they all will yield nearly identical power figures. Filtering wise, who knows. Til someone does a consistent test with the currently available ones, it is all just conjecture

I have the Ralliart panel filter. I don't know how it compares to the others but I am happy with it.

I have the works filter, its the only one i have had, so i have no comparable info. When i put in place of the stock filter, it just felt better. I dont know how to really explain it because i thought a drop in filter would never make much of a difference, but you could feel a little bit of a difference in responsiveness it seemed and a little more audible like it was gasping alot more air in.

Jamie,
Will you pm me price for the cleaning kit for the works filter.

Thanks,

So is the works filter more dense than say Ralliart, K&N, etc? Would you say a good trade off then?? It sucks to get flow you sacrifice filtering.

Knowing WORKS they wont sacrifice filtering for a few extra ponies. I have a stock filter now but will be replacing it with a WORKS filter soon

K&N, and Works are both oiled fabric type filters.

Ralliart and HKS are foam.

Just by looking at them you can tell the foam filters are incredibly porous and aren't going to filter sand sized debris.

If you go knock out your stock filter you will see how small the crap filtered by it can be. After I did that I decided I didn't want that stuff in my engine and went with the Works.

But I think the foam should flow better, but who knows if it's enough to make a difference.
