I heard that the evo 9 is gona have new piston rings, that helps it consume less oil.

But what I wana know is this new ring design as strong as the old one, and can the motor hold the same amount of boost as the evo 8?

Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated as i am planning on buying an evo 9 but i'm questioning this new ring design, because i plan on moding my car and running more boost etc.

The short of it is, it's a new oil control ring design and has nothing to do with the compression rings. The new oil control rings are only two piece not the normal three piece design.
