I can't begin to describe the power curve of this car, Its not so much a peak number, but it hits around 390whp and stays there through redline. Torque peaks at 398 and stays fairly flat for quite awhile, at redline the car is still making over 250tq

This was on a hot day with diluted air in the dyno room too.. This turbo is a street warriors dream! I can only hope the BR20G can make the same results.
What were the pump gas #s?

before this also on race gas he made 358tq and 373 whp.

pump gas the car made around 345-350 whp and tq.

basically he went from 358tq-398tw and 373whp-394whp imagine is he got the boost up to 28 psi. He probably would have made 420 whp.

seems like it's safe to say that the WR will not deliver better peak numbers than the stocker on pump gas, although the power curve will be better. I guess it's good for those trying to maximize their street setup.

Has anyone tried this setup using an SAFC II? Could those numbers be replicated using it or would they be down a whole bunch.

Simply running Water/Washer fluid injection should definitely allow you to run similar boost (25 peak 22 to redline) to what Pete's car did, albeit with less timing, thats what im banking on with this turbo on my car.

This is a question I will soon attempt to answer into the interim. My car has a mail flash from Al for a 10.5 housing USDM 05 turbo, the spool up area in theory should be similar considering the offsetting gains/losses of the TI turbine shaft and the WR compressor wheel, after 5k rpm is where the big differences should be seen and I plan to have the tools necessary to properly datalog the effects on the tune at pump gas boost levels. For a car with a more agressive map then what my car has I would think there may be issues in simply bolting up the WR and holding 21psi with it toward redline as I believe my map should have close to a half a point of fuel left in it to get to the threshold.

The question I'd consider before utilizing an SAFC with it is whether or not the timing at a lower MAF hz range is conservative enough for you to run consistently and safely.

My guess would be that you could reproduce the same peak WHP, but that your peak WTQ would be 20-30 lower. Additionally, the torque and HP curves would jump up sooner and stay above the S-AFC curves all the way to peak HP at which point they would be about even until redline, but that's only 1000rpm or so.

Btw, this is coming from an S-AFC user, so I'm not being an anti-safc homer.

Did you read what I wrote??? He made almost 400 whp on 24 psi. No one is doing that on the stock turbo. The WR i'm sure can do 28-30 psi and hold it better then stock and his car will probably make 420-430 whp at those boost levels. No one with Utec and stock longblock with just 272's is making 420+whp with UTEC

steve - as I recall it was higher than 24 psi....but it did make the #. It was not humid at all Saturday (around 30%), but hot as hell...and I know Ray's shop is insanely hot in and of itself

Knowing Pete and what he built this car for, its the perfect setup. As has been said many times, this turbo needs higher octane gas and lots of boost to pull the #s that were touted early on -as long as you know that going in, all should be good
