AEM EMS fix p0300?
AEM EMS fix p0300?
Well, I'm in this stupid P0300 error code like some of you pepz... my car studders as it goes into the "limp" mode crap like no other...
my question is... will going to an AEM EMS will actually fix this problem???
please advise.
thanks

Going to an AEM EMS or pretty much any other standalone will not really fix the problem so much as it will sidestep it. The EMS is not an ODB-II compliant solution so it doesn't use the check engine light, except unless it's configured as a shift light. Also, if the area of the contry you're in requires a regular emissions inspection that check for ODB-II function, you will fail the test.
Hey propellerhead long time no see!
So I am beginning to see how this works... how though, do you diagnose an issue with your car when you are running the AEM EMS? Obviously you can't have a laptop hooked up to it all the time (though it would be a sweet setup with some kind of switched TV-in head unit or something
). I mean, assuming I have lots of gauges (boost, egt, oil temp/press, fuel press) I can see when something is failing... but I am guessing the EMS software has some interface for analyzing and diagnosing problems? Do I have to resort to data logging and manually checking that out?
