well I have Jesterevo's 05 in my yard I installed 272's as he is Iraq and the is no down side to 272 cams that i can see. More power from 0-redline, honestly It just feels much faster than stock cams. The whole debate about the idle is a joke, its just the sound. If you like the sound of a sport bike then there ya go. Its just as loud at idle as stock cams. Even doing 5 point turns and stuff there is no stalling or any problems. this is with a dynoflash ecu by the way. And Al has got the idle down to an art. So if your talking about racing vettes and things then more topend is going to be better for the strip. So the real question is how are the 280's?? I mean theres no loss going from stock-264's-272's so I plan to order the 280's and see where the down fall is. Most of the negative hype is from people with 264's. Driven both and 272's just have more pull. And the way i really think this will end up is everyone going to 280's down the road unless there into autox or need crazy low end power. I seem to remember busher racing saying the 280's so il lahve to see.

there is no where near a 20 whp difference between 264 and 272 ......in fact peak power stays nearly the same, and only gets shifted higher in the rev range with the 272, assuming a stock turbo

Well after having read a few dyno graphs I relized that the 272 are almost identical to the 264 in power. I really need a cam that will help beat v8's. Well with that said do you think i am making a bad decision on buying 272's for the sound. You gotta love that loopey idle. i mean they do make the same power, so why not the 272's right?

I have 264/272 and I'm swapping to straight 272's.

There's no reason to go 272/264, why try to get in more than you can get out?

264/272 also idle better if you must go that route, but I vote straight 272 and a flash.

Go with GSC, they seem to make more power.

Difference in lift I'm assuming.

And theyre cheaper.

well, from what I understand a set of straight 272's and an SAFC tune should be all you need.

A flash is far more effective.
