roasted clutch? please, join me

well, after 12,410 miles, its more than safe to say my clutch has seen its end. Knew the time would come but never did i think so soon. (no i dont launch the hell out of my car so lets not go there) Lets get to business..

Mods:
Buschur TB
HKS 264/272's
Fidanza gears
Injen Intake w/ hardpipe
Hallman @ 24psi
DNP 02 housing
Dynoflash custom tune

Car put down 330whp 342tq.

Future plans: aiming for 11's

where do i go from here?

maybe your clutch couldn't handle the 342tq. I have read in several mags that when your evo was capable or reaching the mid 12's that the stock clutch was done. with the list of mods you have I believe your car is capable of at least that.

Yep, my stock clutch finally took a crap on me also. I'm at 37k miles though with similar mods. I can barely get up hills now without it slipping up before it finally grabs.

sounds like a good solution to your problem. Many people run their set-up

A Pro-Street forged steel lightened flywheel (10.45 pounds) is what I have and is what Buscher recommends. Hey, I can get you a package deal on a HD Act and prostreet flywheel $695+ shipping very good deal.

[Pro Street 10.45lb Flywheel + ACT Heavy Duty Clutch w/ Street /Track Carbon Disc]
Includes Alignment tool and TOB. I can get BGsynchrohift for the tranny as well when you change the clutch.
PM me if interested.

Clutch should be the first mod you do to the car. Its like night and day.

but if you are already cracking the transmission to replace the cluthch you might as well replace the fly wheel if you are already considering this upgrade

I burnt my stock clutch at 17k and then a RRE no-name clutch at 30k. I now have a ACT clutch and am very happy with it.

I have 325 awhp with the same mods as you. I think if you are looking at getting into the 11's soon and don't want to replace the clutch you might have to go carbon twin to hold the power for the 11's. If not the ACT clutch is the way to go.

BTW- Change the flywheel while you are in there. You might be able to re-surface it once but... just replace it. Especially if you are going big.
