Diaqueen in the TC...

The throwout bearing would not be the cause of the problem. You have to be careful when you use the terms "engaged" and "not engaged" because when your foot has the pedal depressed the clutch is "not engaged" and when your foot is off the pedal the clutch is "engaged". The throwout bearing will only make noise when the clutch is "not engaged" and the pedal is depressed. You said your car was making noise when the clutch is "engaged" and the pedal is not pressed.

Get back to the stealership and let them tell you what they screwed up.

hmmm, i thought they put diaqueen in the tranny too. guess i was wrong.

i wonder what they used then, it was a 5gal bucket which i think is the only way you can get the diaqueen.

and it makes the noise no matter where the clutch pedal or clutch is. engaged or disengaged

your in trouble.....

i had the same exact symptoms after my clutch install, and i had to replace my tranny and TC, mine started beacuse you have to get a dealership to bleed your TC and Tranny using a computer after the install, sounds like you didn't do that.......ouch

anything that should be done after a clutch install, they should have done.

It sounds like that is a good dealership , SAME thing happined to me , the dealership DIDNT put Dynaqueen fluid in my T-case , 150-200miles later super loud whine t-caes , but they wouldnt warrent it . It took 2-3 week's and finaly the servis rep did me a "favor" and replaced it . 1st thing i did when i got home was put some dynaqueen and not had any more prob's (knock on wood)

They do not need to bleed anyhting on an 03, just fill the Tranny and TC with the correct fluids and you're done. The "Computer Bleeding" you're speaking of is the ACD circuit in the 05+ cars being bled properly. It had nothing to do with the type of fluid or method of filling the TC and tranny.

yes, just talked to my pal who has had tranny/transfer case work done. he said mitsubishi calls for them to put the same fluid in the tranny and t-case....so he trailors it home and puts diaqueen in the t-case.

I guess thats what im gonna have to do. I may just have them send my t-case to TRE and pay for a built front dif and have them shim the gears.

Yes, I had the same problem and you can find others here https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=151584. You have a blown synchro. It happened to me, mitsu replaced 2nd, 5th and other parts and it was a direct result of the clutch. At high RPM the plate will not disengage. Bet it works great around 6k. My ACT is gone in place of an exedy twin. Tranny rebuilt and the problem has not resurfaced.
Mitsu should cover it under warranty anyway. Good luck.

Tell him you think it's the syncros, ake him for a ride, make the noise and get a free tranny rebuild. Let me know how you make out.

Man, my dealer is telling me that my ACT clutch voided my warranty....even thought they denied my warranty before they knew I had a ACT clutch in there....

What dealer did the syncros on a modded car under warranty??

I think its a combination of 3 things...

clutch killing my tranny, wrong fluid in transfer case, and tranny sucking in general.

Im getting a brand new transfer case and a tranny rebuild starting wednesday. Now i have to decide if i want to fork out the doe on a new clutch!

the whining is your TC on its way out.... they put the tranny's fluid into it. (the 5 gallon bucket is mitsubishi diamond fluid as some call it "diamond lube") They are supposed to use that in the tranny only and diaqueen in the TC and rear end. They obviously didn't and that TC is not going to like that for more then a 100 or more miles. At least you are getting a new TC...lol. The tranny is fine its the ACT to be completely honest. I continued to deny that it was the clutch while i had the act and the clutchmasters clutches and couldn't shift for crap....later i installed a exedy triple disc and WOW ...i can no lift shift all day long.
I know its a lot of money and the single disc clutchs "work and hold power" but still i would stick with a twin or triple from now on.
