A/c Broke!!

Ok well I had an ac leak cheack done and freon filled and charged and still it does not work. Air comes out just not cold, The guy from the shop said my ac unit was not kicking on. He checked my fuses and relays and everything was fine. Doe anyone have any idea what my problem could be? car has 17k miles on it. Any help on what I should check would be great, ITS HOT OUT!

Take it to the dealer. I have the same problem and havent taken it in yet. Too far away, and too many mods.

Most of the time if it doesnt get cold, its the ac fan..... I had this problem with my last car. Just take it to the delearship get it fix for free. If it is the fan, you wouldn't want to buy another fan out of your pocket.

If you have an 03 it could be fan, related to fan controller.
Also you want to check wiring at compressor and and high/low switches in the lines.

I would love to take it to the dealer, but I'm sure they will void my warrenty. I have cams, upraded fmic and I/C pipe, as well as small battery, hks ssq bov, and hks stand alone ecu.

Absolutely...the pressure switch and wiring is easy to check. You need a 12V automotive test light. If the compressor clutch is not engaging, you would probe for voltage at the compressor clutch, then the clutch relay, etc. to see if the computer is sending a signal or is there is a bad connector/wire...process of elimination....

Similar thing with the pressure switch....make sure it is telling the system to turn on/off the compressor clutch...

theyll work on it....but will they do the work under warreny i doubt it. so if you do take it to the dealr find out if itll be fixed under warrenty or not. if it isnt then it might be cheaper to take to a private mech.

Id say you have a much better chance of getting your A/C worked on under warranty than say, your TC of something. Remember, its halfway through august. In a month, you wont need it and can wait till next year.

Unfortunately, troubleshooting the sealed part of the system usually requires some gear...freon detectors, gages, etc. Some shops will put bright colored dye in the refrigerant to easily see leaks. Some places are not so obvious like the compressor shaft seal or a hidden pinhole leak in the condenser...

Take it to the dealer. It should still be under warranty.
