if your egt temp is high u will see the flame come out now thats on stock manifold and 02 houseing if you upgrade thouse it wont shot out flames because it cools down faster that then stock ones i havent shot i flame out ever since i upgraded both on mine.

as far as the cams go just for street use with no ecu missfireing coed poping up 264/272 u will have a good low end and topend will be a lil stronger then stock. i got 280/280 on my car and i have no problem i have not lost any power at low end or topend. but from 5000 and up it just pulls so hard. im on stock cam gears i got a reflash and bumped up the timeing a lil as long time ago so i didnt need to buy them and 5hp is not worth 300 bucks like the guys at AMS and DEVOTUNING say and a few other tuner shops and i take there work over any one elses. i know other people will say diff. so just use your best jugement take care and enjoy your new evo.

This depends on which cams you have, which other mods you have, what you are trying to achieve, and of course, your tuning.

The flame is the result of unburned fuel vapor that burns upon contact with oxygen, and it doesn't matter which O2 sensor housing or manifold you're using. Typically this is most evident with cars that do not have a catalytic converter.

No one can truthfully answer that question (how much hp), simply because it depends on your setup, and if your tuning is suitable for the longer overlap 280 cams.

As for is it ok to drive, the answer is "yes", but like the hp question, it depends on your setup and tuning. A car that is inadequately tuned will not deliver driveability and power as a car with the same setup and better tuning.

I had the 272's for 30K miles set at -2/-2, now have the 280's set at -1/-2, drivability is great, love the lope out the side-pipe also!
