High altitude, long duration cams, and you.
High altitude, long duration cams, and you.
I live here in Reno, NV at about 4800' feet, I am planning on getting 272's. Will the altitude make the loopy idle even worse? I will have to wait a bit between getting the 272's installed and flashed, or EMS. Other than power loss, what other problems am I suffering with due to the altitude.
You shouldn't have any problems with idle at those altitudes other than the same problems you would have at sea level. I know several Evos with those cams at 4500 ft elevation levels without any problems. I have been to the track at thos elevations with 272s and I could not detect any discernable difference in idle.

i was told by someone in denver that 264s are best for high elevation areas. how was your experience with the 272s? also, i will probably PM you about turbo choices for high elevation, i still cannot make my mind up and your the only one that i know who has experience with high elevation and turbos.

have you been in an evo that has 264s? if so, how does it compare? would 280s be too much?
