question about 20g turbo

ok im thinking about getting this turbo... ima have some major parts done with cams/exaust/dp/cat/ port and polish/valve springs and retainers/ cam gears/ intercooler piping/ radiator/ reflash and so on... i was wondering can i run this turbo at 22 psi and not have to run a alky kit? w/o having problems with knock back or huge over heating problems?

on good gas you could prolly get away with it. there are a few people running 22psi on 93/94 pump with stock/wr/and gt30 series turbos. it will just depend on our tune. you probably won't get a lot of timing running 22psi on pump. you will get the best benefits out of this turbo on higher boost with alky or race gas though. personally i'm a big fan of alky injection.

Give it more than 45 minutes to get an answer.. The first batch of 20G's were recently shipped, I got mine a few days ago, so you'll start seeing data shortly. Your path is similar to the path I'm taking, I do intend to use Alky, but I do also intend to tune the car to run without it and lower boost. So I'll have information at some point in the near future.

22 psi is the upper limits of boost on pump gas. 93-94 octane in good quality should work for you though.

The 20G with your core is $800.

I had my car tuned by Al and I was getting 0 knock counts at 22psi... on the stock turbo. That day I made my numbers you see in my sig. This was on Sunoco 93. I usually use 94 all the time for additional knock protcetion
