My ACT story (not good) - please read
told u so....
I did my 11.3 pass using the ACT...No issues at all!
then all of a sudden a month later....high rpm lock out!
ACT should really do something about this......it cant be a coincidence that nearly everyone is having this problem

God I love my Twin Exedy... 1.6 60' times, and consistent 11.6-11.8 @ 118-120...
Its hard to convey what a difference an awesome clutch makes - because everyone's first question is "well, how much power does it hold?"...
Trust me - working for Exedy or not... the Twin is the best clutch on the market for the Evo VIII...

yeah honestly...a twin disc is the best investment..
i know the ACT is affordable...but in the long run twin discs are great..
excellent pedal feel....and they withstand high rpm launches lovely

here's what i would do b4 you go buying clutches and trannies...
1. change tranny oil ...redline mt90, royal purple ...etc..change transfer case fluid too
2. adjust clutch pedal...did you do that after you installed the act? ...a lot of the time missed gears are due to the clutch pedal not being fully depressed ...might want to do that ...so that you can lower your friction point for quick shifts and what not

The japanese twin disc clutches are more money but they are vastly superior in shifft speed and feel.
Keep in mind for those who dont know Exedy makes the OEM clutch, supplies ACT with the clutch cover which it uses for its clutch which is a modified exedy pressure plate and makes a whole range of clutch offerings for the aftermarket.

Al or someone knowledgeable,
Would this be a good clutch for a daily driver ?

I like the feel of the stock clutch, I just want something quality.
I'm not a drag racer. I enjoy twisty roads.

I have an ACT CLutch on a stock Flywheel. I SOMETIMES get locked out but get good 60 foots times on 30PSI street tires netting me 1.79 or so. Sometimes I can run down teh track real fast no iddues, somethimes it is VERY hard to get in gear.

If it wasn't these shops RAPING ME on the install, I would be getting a new clucth. I mean it's $1000 including the ACT, the Exeddy is like what well over $1,000 I mean people simply can not afford this stuff. I like my act, works as advertised and will support 500 FP's of torque and got me through my DSM days. It may not be perfect but damnit I can afford it.
